Ray has over 30 years of international investment banking experience. He has seen great success throughout his career, providing strategic capital raising and derivative products to various energy and regulated/unregulated industries.

Ray is also a Managing Director and equity shareholder of Samuel A. Ramirez & Co., one of the largest and oldest minority owned investment banking firms in the country. Ray has spent over 35 years in investment banking. At Ramirez & Co., Ray is responsible for providing investment banking services to the Energy and Utility industries, as well as to a select list of large cap technology and industrial companies. For the last 15 years at Ramirez & Co., Ray has provided utility and energy companies debt and equity capital markets products and strategic advisory services on some of the largest utility M&A transactions over this period. Additionally, his investment banking work brings him into frequent contact with state and federal regulatory bodies and regulators giving him unique insights into some of his clients’ most important financial and strategic matters. Prior to joining Ramirez & Co., Ray worked at JP Morgan and Bank of America and their predecessor institutions in a variety of investment banking and derivative trading positions. Ray is also a Board Member of ISEN (Institute of Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern) advisory council. Ray has a BA in economics from Boston College and an MBA from Northwestern University.
