Investment Strategy, Stage and Size

Energy Capital Ventures®️ is the champion for innovation in Green Molecules®. We leverage strong relationships with our corporate limited partners and broader industry network to drive portfolio growth and solve for the energy expansion. Data centers, generative artificial intelligence, industrial manufacturing and the energy infrastructure are redefining the World's energy demand. We view this and an energy expansion, not an energy transition.

Our investments focus primarily on Seed to Series A companies with initial commitments ranging from $2 million to $5 million USD. We have the flexibility to invest earlier, where we can leverage our platform to mitigate technology and market risk. We also have the capacity to invest more significant amounts of capital through special purpose vehicles and limited partner co-investment. Our preference is to lead rounds, take board seats, and serve as active advocates in building businesses. However, we are happy to co-lead and syndicate with other great investors. We have the means to invest up to 30% of our fund outside North America, where there is advanced value innovation to the natural gas value chain, and up to 25% of funds in broader energy related technologies which may be relevant to the future of natural gas and the energy expansion.
