Furno has developed the first modular, small scale cement kiln that uses natural gas instead of coal to decarbonize cement. The kiln maintains and improves the cement cost-effectiveness through a dramatically more efficient production process. The key innovation is their modular kiln which reduces the 4-steps of cement making into a single, efficient and compact stage.  Furno can displace large, centralized cement manufacturers similar to how mini-mills displaced the large, centralized steel manufacturers.
